World Athletics has extended the suspension of Russian athletes from competitions

The International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics) has upheld the decision to suspend Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. On March 25, the head of the organization, Sebastian Coe, announced this at a press conference that was broadcast on the association's YouTube channel.
"The Council recognized the current sanctions as normal and not in need of replacement or changes," Coe stressed.
At the moment, according to the head of World Athletics, athletes from Russia and Belarus remain in the international testing pool.
In November 2015, World Athletics temporarily stripped the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) of its membership in the organization due to the doping scandal. After that, the ban on participation in international competitions was repeatedly extended.
Earlier, on March 21, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry said she would discuss the possibility of returning suspended Russian athletes to the Olympic Games with a working group.
