Argentina announced the declassification of data on Nazis who fled to the country.

The government of Argentine President Javier Miley will declassify archives related to the Nazis from the Third Reich, who fled to the South American country after the defeat in World War II. This was announced on March 24 by the head of the Argentine Cabinet of Ministers, Guillermo Francos.
According to him, this decision is related to a request from Republican U.S. Senator Steve Daines, which he addressed to Miley during a personal meeting.
"A few days ago, President Miley received Senator Steve Daines, who has long been fighting to make known all the information about the time when the Nazis came to hide in Argentina," the infobae portal quotes Francos.
The head of the Cabinet clarified that the President of Argentina has already issued a decree on the beginning of the procedure for declassifying archives. According to the official, the most important information about the escaped Nazis is probably stored in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of South America.
Earlier, in January, declassified archival documents allowed The Wall Street Journal newspaper to convict the Swiss bank Credit Suisse of concealing close ties with the Nazis during World War II. It is indicated that the financial organization hid its role in the crimes of the Third Reich, not always sharing what it knows.
