- The Speaker of the Armenian Parliament ruled out a revision of the position regarding the CSTO

Armenia is not going to reconsider its position on the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan announced this on March 25.
When asked about the revision of the position, he replied that the organization should reconsider and understand whether it exists itself or not.
"If it (the organization. If she exists, she must understand what she did not do, what she should have done, and what she records," Simonyan was quoted as saying by Armenpress.
According to the publication, Simonyan thus commented on the inaction of the CSTO during the Azerbaijani attack on Armenia.
In addition, the Speaker of the parliament denied reports that government agencies were strengthening cooperation with Russian partners on the instructions of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.Газета.Ru ".
Relations between Armenia and the CSTO worsened in November 2022, when Pashinyan refused to sign the draft declaration of the CSTO Security Council "On joint measures to assist the Republic of Armenia" due to the lack of a clear, in his opinion, political assessment of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
So, on September 18 last year, the Prime Minister of Armenia announced a threat to the country's sovereignty from the CSTO. He clarified that the country has come as close as possible to the point of no return in relations with the organization due to the fact that it does not answer her questions.
During the government hour in parliament on December 4, Pashinyan stated that the country considers itself outside the CSTO and no longer participates in decision-making in the organization. In turn, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced on December 18 that Armenia would withdraw from the CSTO when it received the go-ahead from Washington.
