Over the past day, 211 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 27 people were killed and 287 injured. 22 of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on March 25 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

15 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which seven people were killed, and 55 more road users, including one child, required medical attention. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations by their drivers.

For example, in the Republic of Crimea, on 1 km of the highway "Entrance to Simferopol International Airport named after I.K. Aivazovsky", a 56-year-old bus driver with 41 passengers ran over a truck with a trailer parked on the right edge of the roadway. As a result of the accident, six bus passengers were killed, five were injured and were hospitalized, and 30 more were sent for outpatient treatment after medical treatment. According to the bus driver, he was suddenly blinded by the sun while driving, so he did not notice the parked vehicle and ran over it.

As a result of 62 accidents, 31 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and the same number outside their area of operation, five pedestrians were killed, and 59 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 21 child pedestrians, 13 of whom were injured at pedestrian crossings. On Monday, 36 accidents involving minors were registered, as a result of which 36 young road users were injured, including 10 child passengers. Two children who were transported as passengers of passenger cars were killed.

So, in the Altai Territory, on 11 km of the Pavlovsk—Kamen-on-Ob regional highway, the driver of a crossover drove off the road while driving, followed by a rollover. A five-year-old girl passenger died in the accident, who was in the back seat of the car in a child restraint and was wearing a seat belt. Another passenger in the car was injured and sent for outpatient treatment after receiving medical care.

Temporary restrictions and traffic closures are continuing in some regions of the country due to flooding or adverse weather conditions. Thus, in the Republic of North Ossetia — Alania, due to the deterioration of weather conditions in the adjacent territory, truck traffic has been temporarily restricted since yesterday evening on the federal highway A-161 Vladikavkaz — Nizhny Lars — border with the Republic of Georgia in the direction of departure from the Russian Federation.

For several days now, traffic on six regional highways has been temporarily suspended in the Republic of Bashkortostan due to flooding of the roadway by flood waters. In the Altai Territory and the Kurgan Region, for the same reason, traffic on one regional highway in each of the regions has been stopped since yesterday. In the Samara region, two regional highways have also been blocked since March 24 due to flooding of the roadway.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that motorists, when planning long-distance trips in these and neighboring regions, monitor the flood situation, weather forecast and media information from traffic closures or restrictions. In case of a negative forecast, it is worthwhile to refrain from using personal vehicles for a while.

In conditions of limited visibility and unstable off-season weather, especially in the early morning, evening or night, it is not necessary to exceed the permitted speed limit, and risky driving should be avoided. Before departure, it is important to check the technical condition of the vehicle, the operation of lighting devices, "wipers", the braking system, the availability of tires according to the season and the actual weather, as well as the fuel level.

"The State Traffic Inspectorate urges drivers to slow down and increase the distance to the vehicles ahead, as well as to avoid frequent lane changes, avoid sudden maneuvers and overtaking, and strictly comply with traffic regulations related to starting traffic, changing lanes, turning, U-turn and stopping. Observing all these basic measures of motor vehicle safety and the level of personal driving discipline depends not only on your life and health, but also on the lives and health of your passengers and other road users," Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia..

The day before, it was reported that starting from September 1, Kyrgyzstan will introduce a procedure for verifying knowledge of traffic rules for drivers who have violated the rules right at the stop. If the violator is unable to answer questions related to traffic regulations, his driver's license will be temporarily withdrawn.
