The UK announced the completion of the investigation into the fraud case of ex-lawyer Pashayev

The investigation into the criminal case against former lawyer Elman Pashayev, accused of fraud on a particularly large scale, has been completed. This was announced on March 25 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"The military investigative bodies of the Russian Investigative Committee have completed investigative actions in the criminal case against former lawyer Elman Pashayev," the Telegram channel says.

The investigation found that in January of last year, the ex-lawyer, using a relationship of trust, convinced his friend Alexei Blinovsky that he could release him and his wife Elena from criminal liability. So, he fraudulently stole money worth more than 47 million rubles.

In the period from July 2023 to September 2024, Pashayev tried to steal over 15 million rubles from Alexei Zakharov in the same way. The former lawyer was unable to bring the fraudulent scheme to an end, and law enforcement officers managed to stop his activities.

The accused's property was seized and he was taken into custody.

On March 12, the Moscow Garrison Military Court extended the arrest of the former lawyer until May 15.

Pashayev is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed on an especially large scale"), the case was initiated on September 17, 2024. According to the investigation, in February 2024, a former lawyer at a meeting with blogger Elena Blinovskaya's husband Alexei convinced him of his ability to release his wife from criminal liability for a large sum. He handed over at least 18.5 million rubles and $300 thousand to Pashayev.
