In 2025, Ukrainian troops may not receive about 500,000 155-mm shells from the Czech Republic if the Czech opposition movement ANO (Action of Dissatisfied Citizens) party, led by former Prime Minister Andrei Babis, wins the parliamentary elections in October. Acting Prime Minister Petr Fiala warned about this on March 25.

"Babis is against this initiative on ammunition, against defense spending, he talks about peace without any conditions," Fiala said in an interview with the Financial Times newspaper.

The politician stressed that the probability of sending weapons to Kiev from Prague is quite high. However, this initiative needs financial support, and if the ruling coalition loses the election, the shells will not be sent, he adds.Газета.Ru ".

On March 22, Czech President Petr Pavel stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) initially had no prerequisites to successfully develop a counteroffensive in 2023, as the country did not have enough military forces.

Irish journalist Chay Bose said at the same time that Pavel's words were a manifestation of hypocrisy in the West. He noted that they always knew that Ukrainians would never win or join NATO, but they supported the "corrupt dictatorship adored by neo-Nazis." And now the West isn't even trying to hide it, Bose added.
