A gas explosion occurred on the morning of March 25 in an apartment of a multi-storey building in Makhachkala. Some time later, information was received about another explosion of a gas-air mixture in a one-story building in a neighboring area. Several people were injured in the incident. What happened in Makhachkala

An apartment on Gaptsakhskaya Street in the Leninsky district was the first to catch fire from a gas explosion. The explosion occurred around 09:00. At the moment, the fire has been eliminated. According to preliminary information, the explosion was caused by a domestic gas leak.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has released a video from the scene. In the footage, you can see a pile of debris on the floor, holes in the walls and wires hanging from the ceilings. The video also captures a group of rescuers inside the destroyed building.

According to eyewitnesses, the blast wave spread to 200 m. Windows were blown out in a number of apartments. Cars parked near the house were damaged by debris. In addition, the wall of the building partially collapsed.

A local resident told Izvestia that there had been no gas in the area for two days due to a blackout. He suggested that the sensors might not have reacted to the feed after connection.

At 09:49, 112 received a message about a similar incident in a one-story building at 66 Imam Shamil Avenue. An explosion of a gas-air mixture occurred in a cellular communications store, where a fire also started. Special services immediately went to the place.

Victims of the gas explosion

As a result of the gas explosion on Gaptsakhskaya Street, a man and a woman were injured. They were admitted to the hospital. The Ministry of Health of the region reported that the woman is in serious condition, the man is in moderate condition.

The mayor's office, in turn, said that the house where the incident occurred had not yet been put into operation, so there should have been no residents there.

It is known about the victims in the communication salon that they were diagnosed with burns of the 2nd and 3rd degrees. Four people were injured in total. According to preliminary information, the condition of three of them is serious.

Everyone receives the necessary medical care. The treatment is under the personal supervision of the Minister of Health of Dagestan Yaroslav Glazov.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Dagestan has organized an inspection in connection with a gas explosion in an apartment building. During the supervisory measures, the circumstances of the incident will be established, as well as an assessment of compliance with legal requirements during the operation of gas equipment.

Alexey Rodivilov, Deputy republican prosecutor, and Sergey Sidorov, prosecutor of the Leninsky district of Makhachkala, also went to the explosion site. The course of the inspection has been checked.
