In Moldova, they announced an economic crisis due to Sandu and the ruling party

Moldova's public debt has doubled in five years due to the policies of the head of state Maia Sandu and the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS). This was announced on March 24 by the former Minister of Economy of the Republic Octavian Kalmyk.
"The national debt has almost doubled over the past five years — if before 2019 it was about 52 billion lei ($2.8 billion — Ed.), now, by the end of this year, they promised that it would be 136 billion lei ($7.5 billion — Ed.). This means that for every working person there is over 150 thousand lei ($8,300 — Ed.) [debt]. And the debt will have to be serviced, of course, from public funds," he said in an interview with Gagauznews, fragments of which were published on the publication's Telegram channel.
He stated that the economic situation does not give grounds for a positive forecast. According to Kalmyk, there is no foreign investment in Moldova. In particular, as he noted, part of the capital is leaving the republic.
"The economy is based solely on consumption, which, in turn, depends on the declining population," he added.
The former Minister of Economy of Moldova stressed that the consumption level is temporarily maintained only due to the influx of refugees from Ukraine. Kalmyk stressed that this is only a temporary measure. He suggested that the effect would soon disappear, as the incomes of refugees were also decreasing.
On March 25, former President of the republic, leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon told Izvestia that by the end of 2025, the government's debt in Moldova would increase by more than 2.5 times. According to him, this applies to both internal and external indicators. He stressed that the decline is observed during the period when the republic is led by Sandu and PAS.
