- Russian Medvedev will leave the top ten of the ATP rankings for the first time since 2023

Former world number one Daniil Medvedev of Russia is dropping out of the TOP 10 of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings for the first time since February 2023, Sport-Express reported on March 25.
This happened after the athlete failed to reach the third round of the Masters tournament in Miami. Now the 29-year-old Russian will lose 390 points and after the release of the updated version of the ATP ranking will drop from eighth place to at least 11th.
Prior to that, Medvedev left the top ten of the ATP rankings on January 30, 2023. However, just three weeks later, his name returned to the list.
On March 22, Medvedev lost to Spanish athlete Jaume Munar in the semifinal match of the ATP Masters tournament in Miami and failed to advance to the third round of the competition. The game took place on March 21 and ended with a score of 2:6, 3:6. Its duration was 1 hour and 19 minutes.
Medvedev is the winner of the 2021 U.S. Open and the holder of 20 ATP titles. The last time he won the tournament was in May 2023, and reached the final in March 2024.
