An earthquake of magnitude 6.7 occurred off the coast of New Zealand, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported on March 25.

The source of the tremors lay at a depth of 21 km. According to reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 164 km southwest of the city of Riverton, which has a population of about 1.4 thousand people.

There was no information about casualties or damage.

On March 24, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was recorded 28 km from the coast of Coquimbo in Chile. The source was located at a depth of 85 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was 329 km from the city of San Juan (province of Argentina), which has a population of 447 thousand people.
