Low-income Russians want to receive subsidies for medicines. As Izvestia found out, such a bill will be submitted to the State Duma on March 25 by deputies of the Fair Russia — For Truth faction led by Sergei Mironov.

"The draft law establishes that subsidies for the payment of vital and essential medicines (hereinafter referred to as subsidies) are provided to a citizen if his expenses for the payment of medicines included in the list of vital and essential medicines exceed 10% of his total income from labor, entrepreneurial and other activities, except if The average per capita income of a citizen's family or his total income from labor, entrepreneurial and other activities exceeds three times the minimum subsistence level established in the relevant subject of the Russian Federation," the explanatory note to the draft law, which is available to Izvestia, says.

The bill also establishes increased guarantees for citizens whose income does not exceed the cost of living. In particular, for such citizens, the maximum allowable share of expenses is reduced in accordance with a correction factor equal to the ratio of their income to the subsistence level, which ensures a fair, proportionate reduction in the maximum share of expenses for the least well-off citizens.

"In order not to burden regional budgets with additional costs, we propose to finance this program from the federal budget. This is extremely important, because in many regions there is a catastrophic shortage of money, and they will not be able to carry the additional financial burden," Sergei Mironov explained to Izvestia.

At the same time, the deputy noted that today more than 12 million Russian citizens are below the poverty line, and their prices are constantly rising.

On March 18, nutritionist Dmitry Semiryadov, in a conversation with Izvestia, noted that the human body has a complex defense system that is activated upon contact with pathogenic organisms. According to him, the immune system has three lines of defense when faced with viruses and infections. Semiryadov noted that the immune system is strongly affected by deficiencies of vitamins D and C, as well as trace elements such as zinc and iron. The doctor advised to regularly monitor their level.
