In Russia, there has been a slight decrease in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, despite the high number of people infected. This was reported on March 25 in Rospotrebnadzor.

"At week 12, there was a slight decrease in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza in the Russian Federation — by 10.8%, as well as hospitalizations — by 8.6%. At the same time, the number of cases is at a high level and amounts to more than one million cases per week," the ministry said.

Rospotrebnadzor added that influenza B and A (H1N1) retains a leading position among respiratory viruses. At the same time, rhinoviruses and MS viruses predominate among viruses of non-influenza etiology.

In addition, the incidence of COVID-19 has been decreasing in the Russian Federation for nine weeks. So, at the end of the 12th week, 3 thousand cases were registered, which is 20.2% less than the previous week.

It is noted that in this regard, the number of closed educational institutions is decreasing due to morbidity. For example, 435 schools and 109 preschool institutions, two boarding schools and one vocational school were closed last week.

"The situation is under the control of Rospotrebnadzor," the department stressed.

Internist, occupational therapist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg clinic) Svetlana Burnatskaya reported on February 18 that treatment with folk remedies for acute respiratory viral infections can be not only ineffective, but also dangerous to health.
