- In Crimea, condolences were expressed in connection with the death of Izvestia correspondent Fedorchak.

On March 24, the head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, expressed his condolences over the death of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak.
He spoke about both the professional and personal qualities of the deceased.
"Our countryman, Alexander Sergeevich Fedorchak, a war correspondent for Izvestia, a talented journalist and a courageous man, died. Before starting his career, Alexander worked for the Krym 24 TV channel, and since 2022 he has been a correspondent for the Zvezda TV channel. From the first days of the special operation, he performed his official duty in historical territories," Aksyonov wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of Crimea, entertainment programs in all media outlets are filmed by the Krym shopping mall in connection with Fedorchak's death. The TV and radio company also changes the logos to black and white.
The Crimean branch of the Russian Union of Journalists has expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak after learning of his death in the line of duty in the special operation zone on March 24.
"After switching to the federal channel, he often came to Simferopol, met with colleagues and students, with whom he was happy to share his experience. It was as if only yesterday I saw him, as cheerful, energetic, with a kind smile as before. And now he's gone... <...> It's a pity that Sasha won't see the Victory. He was really looking forward to it too. We offer our condolences to the families and friends and are always ready to lend a helping hand. As it should be in our workshop. This is a great loss for us. Sleep well, Sasha...", said Vadim Pervikh, General Director of the Krym shopping mall and chairman of the Crimean branch of the SZHR.
The former also noted that Fedorchak's death is a great loss for journalism in general, for Crimean journalism, for his colleagues and the entire newsroom that knew him.
"We will grieve, we will keep mourning, we will help his family in every possible way. He loved his family very much, loved his father, and we will try, of course, to somehow perpetuate this memory too. I would like to sincerely believe that there will be no more such losses. It is a pity that such young and talented guys are leaving the profession," said the First.
The death of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak became known earlier that day. According to preliminary data, he died as a result of an artillery strike from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The journalist worked on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) and the Kharkiv region.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the death of Alexander Fedorchak in the area of a special operation to protect Donbass is a new crime by the Ukrainian leadership against freedom of speech, and it will not be forgotten.
