- A high-alert regime was introduced in the Omsk region due to the threat of flooding.

The decision to introduce a high-alert regime is related to the threat of flooding and a repeat of the situation last year, when the north of the region suffered due to rising waters in the Ishim and Irtysh rivers. Information about this appeared on March 24 at the disposal of the governor of the region, published on the Internet portal of legal information.
"In order to carry out measures aimed at minimizing the negative effects of dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena and flood processes <...>, introduce a high—alert regime," the document says.
The management bodies were instructed to strengthen control over the state of the environment, develop and clarify action plans to prevent and eliminate the consequences of emergencies.
Earlier, on March 14, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, included the Omsk Region in the list of regions that are at risk of flooding this year. According to the expert, the flood will mainly develop in April.
