A Sochi resident who beat a seven-year-old girl to death with a belt was found guilty

The Central District Court of Sochi, with the participation of a jury, considered a criminal case against a man who killed the seven-year-old daughter of his roommate. This was announced on March 24 by the united press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory in the Telegram channel.

"After examining the evidence presented by the parties, the jury unanimously found the man guilty on all counts of the charges," the statement said.

A criminal case has been opened against him under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code (torture) and Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code (causing serious harm to health, resulting in death by negligence).

The jury decided that the man did not deserve leniency. The court will issue a guilty verdict in the near future.

The crime was committed on May 27, 2023. According to the investigation, a 24-year-old resident of Sochi, who lived with his girlfriend and her daughter in a rented apartment, hit the child with a belt at least 15 times for disobedience. On the night of June 2, the girl's condition deteriorated significantly, and her mother called an ambulance. The child could not be saved, she died in the ambulance.
