Unexploded aerial bomb found in the center of Czech Brno


An aerial bomb, unexploded since World War II, was found in the center of the second largest Czech city of Brno, and 1,100 people were evacuated from nearby buildings. This was reported by Idnes on March 24.
A FAB-50 aerial bomb weighing about 50 kg was found at a construction site on Trnita Street. After that, law enforcement officers, together with firefighters, began to evacuate the territory. The police closed two streets to traffic, and traffic on the nearby railway had to be stopped.
The bomb squad loaded the bomb into a car and took it to a safe place for disposal. After that, all restrictive measures in the area were lifted, the text added.
A day earlier, it was reported that an aerial bomb from the Second World War was found in the village of Svodin in western Slovakia during construction work. About 200 people were evacuated, including worshippers from the local church where mass was being held at the time.
