The military analyst pointed to the disappointment of the mercenaries with their service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The mercenaries who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are disappointed by defeats at the front and unstable wages. This was stated on March 24 by political scientist and military analyst Vadim Mingalev in an interview with Izvestia.

The day before, The Times newspaper published an article in which the mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the United States told reporters that they were in favor of a ceasefire because they were suffering huge losses. One of them, a medic from the Delta team, spoke about the mission, which resulted in 90% losses for his company.

"The situation with mercenaries is deplorable for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Some of them, mainly the Ukrainian Armed Forces, began to leave Ukraine. <...> There is a certain degree of disappointment, this applies not only to American mercenaries, therefore, such a flow of soldiers of fortune, as it was before, is no longer observed," Mingalev commented.

He also noted that there are often conflicts between mercenaries and Ukrainian soldiers, including shootings, which local law enforcement agencies do not like. In addition, the mercenaries understand that now Ukraine's Western sponsors are not so willing to allocate money to Kiev, which will also affect their salaries.

Earlier, on March 12, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced that the court had sentenced Robert Wertman, an American mercenary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to 23 years in prison in absentia for committing a terrorist act in the Kursk region.

On the same day, the court sentenced Lithuanian mercenary Sharunas Yasyukevicius to 23 years in prison for invading the Kursk region and participating in hostilities. It was established that he threatened local residents, as well as fired at Russian military personnel and law enforcement officers.
