Toyota has upgraded the Land Cruiser 300 SUV for the first time since the model debuted in 2021. The updates affected the multimedia component and anti-theft protection, Carscoops reported on March 24.

The digital dashboard of the Land Cruiser 300 has been increased from 4.2 inches to 7 inches as standard. At the same time, the central screen was reduced from 9 inches to 8 inches, and it also lost the physical buttons around the edges and gained a wide frame. A 12.3-inch multimedia display is available as an option, and a digital dashboard of the same size is available in high-end SUV options.

Toyota also focused on the full—time protection of the Land Cruiser 300. By the end of 2024, the model topped the rating of insurers in terms of the frequency of carjackings in Japan, this status has belonged to the model for four consecutive years. Now, by default, the Land Cruiser 300 has a remote ignition lock function from a smartphone, and fingerprint authentication is built into the engine start button.

There are no technical changes, the SUV is equipped with V6 turbo engines (petrol 3.5 and diesel 3.3) and combined with a 10-speed automatic and all-wheel drive system.

Toyota also clarified that the company has temporarily suspended accepting orders for the new Land Cruiser 300 in Japan, as it does not have time to meet demand at the current production rate. It will resume when most of the customers who have placed an order receive their cars.

Earlier that day, GAC announced that the new Empower sedan in an extended configuration with a sports body kit will cost 2.9 million rubles in Russia, including discounts. The price of the basic version of the Empower GS is not specified. The extended GL (S-style) features 18-inch wheels in a special design and an aerodynamic body kit.
