Starting from April 2, the United States will impose duties of 25% on countries that purchase oil and gas from Venezuela. This was announced on March 24 by the American President Donald Trump l.

"All documentation will be signed and registered, and the tariff will take effect on April 2, 2025, the day of America's liberation," he wrote on the Truth Socia social network.

Venezuela purposefully and fraudulently sent tens of thousands of criminals to the United States, which is one of the reasons for the introduction of tariffs, the American leader noted.

Trump added that the United States continues the process of returning migrants to Venezuela, including those who allegedly have ties to the Tren de Aragua criminal group, which was recently recognized as a terrorist group.

Earlier, on March 13, Trump said that if the European Union (EU) does not lift duties on whiskey, the United States will impose 200 percent tariffs on alcoholic beverages coming from France and other EU countries. In his opinion, these measures will have a positive impact on the US business.
