- The ex-wife of the father of a bitten husky boy in Sochi stole 3 million for his treatment

Valentina's ex-wife, whose son was the victim of a dog attack in Sochi, stole three million rubles intended for the boy's treatment. The victim's father told Izvestia about this on March 24.
The man explained that back in 2018, he wrote a general power of attorney in the name of the child's stepmother to resolve property issues. The document was issued for 10 years.
"I did not think that she would use this power of attorney to do this, to withdraw money from the account that was intended for her son's treatment. And she took advantage of it, she withdrew 3 million rubles today. <...> She has withdrawn money from her account and has not been in touch," Valentin confessed.
The man believed that the document had already become invalid, as he had changed his passport, and his details indicated in the power of attorney were not relevant. According to Valentin, the bank's employees did not verify the information and should not have carried out the financial transaction.
Two huskies attacked a nine-year-old child in Sochi on February 26. The animals were unattended by the owner, they were driven away by passers-by. As a result, the boy was taken to a medical facility with multiple wounds. A criminal case was opened into the incident under Part 1 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing serious harm to health by negligence").
On March 4, surgeon Alexey Dikarev told Izvestia that the boy would need to have a reconstruction of his mouth, lips, cheeks and nose. According to him, such operations are carried out in many medical institutions in Russia.
