Andrey Klychkov, the Governor of the Orel region, explained the information about payments of 100,000 rubles to pregnant schoolgirls that had become the focus of attention. He posted his comment on March 24 in the Telegram channel.

According to the head of the region, these payments are regulated by the order of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation "On approval of methodological recommendations for the implementation of measures of regional programs to increase fertility, subject to co-financing from the federal budget."

Klychkov also noted that at the moment there are no pregnant women in the region who study in educational institutions.

In his opinion, young girls in such a situation often make controversial decisions.

"And our task, since this has already happened, is to support them, help save the child's life and the mother's health," the governor said.

Earlier, on March 20, Klychkov signed a decree on a one-time payment of 100 thousand rubles for pregnant schoolgirls when registering. In the wording of the previous decree, the monetary payment was due only to pregnant women studying in professional educational organizations and educational institutions of higher education.
