Moscow court extends house arrest of blogger's ex-wife Lerchek

Troitskiy District Court of Moscow extended Lerchek (real name — Valeria Chekalina) to the blogger's ex-wife Artyom's measure of restraint. This was announced on March 24 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

"By a decision of the Troitskiy District Court of Moscow, the investigator's request for an extension of the preventive measure in the form of house arrest against Artem Alexandrovich Chekalin for a period of two months was granted," the Telegram channel said.

It is specified that Artem Chekalin will be under house arrest until May 24.

On March 17, the Moscow City Court placed blogger Lercek under house arrest. The blogger did not attend the meeting itself. She asked the court to consider the complaint without her participation.

A criminal case against the blogger and her ex-husband was opened on October 2 last year. The ex-husband and wife, as well as their accomplice, were suspected of illegally withdrawing more than 250 million rubles from Russia to Dubai using forged documents (art. 193.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
