A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 250 military personnel in this area, four armored fighting vehicles, including two American M113 armored personnel carriers and an HMMWV armored vehicle, a tank, three electronic warfare (EW) stations, three artillery pieces manufactured in Western countries, including a 155 mm FH-70 howitzer. Great Britain, four vehicles and three ammunition depots.

In addition, air defense systems shot down 227 aircraft-type drones, three HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) projectiles and four US-made JDAM guided aerial bombs.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 659 aircraft, 22946 field artillery and mortar guns, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22471 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 48312 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1530 multiple rocket launchers, 283 helicopters, 33323 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
