Lavrov stated the trend towards the formation of a more just world order

Trends in the development of the international situation are turning towards changing the worldview and forming a more just world order. This was stated on March 24 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Alexander Gorchakov Foundation for Support of Public Diplomacy.
"I won't talk for a long time about the current international situation, I think everyone present is following the events in the international arena very closely, the trends that are unfolding before our eyes and changing the worldview, the main ones of these trends are, of course, the formation of a more just and polar world order," the Russian Foreign Minister said.
According to Lavrov, the process of strengthening new world centers has begun and continues beyond the "global West." It takes place in China, India, and Russia's other BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) partners, who are striving for independence.
"These are the majority of the countries of Eurasia, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, well, almost the entire "non-West," as it is now customary to say. They all represent different civilizations, cultures, and religions. They are all united by their commitment to the democratization of international life," the minister said.
The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that Russia is interested in the sovereign, peaceful and predictable development of democratic processes and the rejection of forms of pressure. When all countries, like Russia, would rely on the principles of the UN Charter. However, the West means democracy, "which it wants to mold there in its own image and likeness."
"Because as soon as we mentioned the democratization of international relations, Western partners went on the defensive, as if they hadn't heard anything," Lavrov stated.
The Iranian state agency IRNA reported on March 22 that Iran and Russia will continue efforts to form a multipolar and just world order, which implies cooperation in such formats as BRICS and SCO, both countries will also work to expand these international institutions.
Earlier, on March 18, the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, speaking at the Royal Danish Military Academy, said that by 2030 a new world order would be formed, Europe should prepare for it now, strengthening its security.
At the same time, on November 26, 2024, Christian Badia, Deputy Commander—in-Chief of the NATO joint Forces, said that the confrontation between the West and Russia was not just a "cold war 2.0", but a struggle for a new world order. According to Badia, Russia, China and Iran, together with Brazil, India and South Africa, "question the dominance of the West."
On November 6, Lavrov said on the sidelines of the XXI annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club that the regionalization of world life ensures multipolarity in politics and is a "healing process." He noted that the West, by reacting to the independent policies of the Russian Federation and other states, which resulted in illegal sanctions, fragmented the system of globalization that it had created. Thus, according to Lavrov, the processes of global regionalization were stimulated.
