Fatal bus and truck accident in Crimea. What is known by this hour

A regular bus and a truck collided on March 24 on the Simferopol —Yevpatoria highway in Crimea. As a result of the accident, several people died, and more than ten were injured in various degrees of severity. Izvestia has collected everything that is known about the incident by this hour.

What happened in Crimea

The bus was traveling on the route Saki — Simferopol. Not far from Simferopol airport, he collided with a heavy truck. The regional prosecutor's office clarified that the accident occurred near the village of Ukromnoye, Simferopol district. There were 32 people in the cabin at that time.

Later, the republic's Interior Ministry said that the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. The driver of the KAVZ bus hit a stationary vehicle for unknown reasons.

According to the driver, he was blinded by the sun, and therefore he did not notice the transport ahead. Law enforcement officers established that he was sober at the time of the accident.

Dead and injured

According to the Crimean Ministry of Health, 19 people were injured in the accident, six of them died. There is one child among the injured.

The injured were taken to medical facilities. They are currently being assisted by doctors.

A criminal case has been opened into the accident.

The Department of the Investigative Committee for the republic informed about the instruction to open a criminal case on the violation of traffic rules. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being established.
