In the Orel region, a decision was made on a one-time payment of 100 thousand rubles for pregnant schoolgirls when registering. The corresponding decree was signed on March 20 by the governor of the region Andrey Klychkov, the document is published on the portal of the official publication of legal acts.

For the measure to enter into force, Decree No. 717 of December 12, 2024 "On the establishment of a one-time cash payment for pregnancy registration for women studying full-time and living in the territory of the Orel Region in 2025-2027" will be amended.

"Make a <...> change <...> having stated subparagraph 4 of paragraph 2 in the following wording: full—time education in general education organizations, professional educational organizations, educational institutions of higher education," the document says.

In the wording of the previous decree, the monetary payment was due only to pregnant women studying in professional educational organizations and educational institutions of higher education.

On March 11, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko instructed the Committee on Science and Education to prepare a bill that would include a set of mandatory measures to support student families. She noted that when a young married couple gives birth to a child, they can be provided with a dorm room, or transfer a student from paid to budget education. She also added that the Ministry of Labor has proposed a good initiative — maternity benefits for female students, such benefits should increase 10 times.
