Most often, phone scammers call residents of Moscow.

Phone scammers have become more likely to make calls to Russians. This was announced on March 24 by representatives of the MTS Defender service.
"Scammers have started calling Russians more often. Every seven hundredth incoming call in the country turns out to be fraudulent. For example, in November-December last year, fraudulent calls accounted for every thousandth call," MTS said.
The attackers are most interested in the residents of Moscow. Almost every fourth (24%) call is addressed specifically to a resident of the capital. Krasnodar is in second place in the anti—rating with 7%, and St. Petersburg is in third (6%).
On March 20, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation suppressed a network of nodes for remote fraud communications from abroad. It is specified that the attackers made calls from abroad and lured access codes to "Public Services". After that, the scammers issued micro-loans in the names of Russians, and in order to return the borrowed funds, they demanded to transfer money to so-called secure accounts.
