Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the spring holiday of Navruz. This was reported by the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" on Monday, March 24.

It is specified that the Russian leader wished Berdimuhamedov good health and success, and also expressed confidence in building constructive partnership ties to strengthen regional security and stability.

"Russian-Turkmen relations are successfully developing in the spirit of an in-depth strategic partnership. I am confident that through joint efforts we will continue to actively build mutually beneficial bilateral ties for the benefit of our friendly peoples, in the interests of strengthening security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region," the newspaper quoted Putin as saying.

On February 10, Russian Ambassador to Ashgabat Ivan Volinkin announced Russia's respect for Turkmenistan's foreign policy. He added that relations between Moscow and Ashgabat have always been built on the basis of a common history, respect and mutual benefit. He noted the closeness of the approaches of the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan to the main international and regional problems, as well as the determination of the states to deepen cooperation in ensuring security.

On December 31, 2024, Russian President Putin declared that relations between Russia and Turkmenistan were successfully developing in the spirit of an in-depth strategic partnership. According to him, the leaders of the two countries will continue constructive dialogue and consistent work on the bilateral and international agenda.
