In Kamchatka, some enterprises were switched to remote mode due to a powerful cyclone. This was announced on Monday, March 24, by the press service of the regional Government.

"Enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownership are recommended to transfer employees to remote work. Employees of state and municipal institutions, as well as social institutions, work remotely," the government's Telegram channel says.

Classes were canceled in all kindergartens, as well as specialized secondary and higher educational institutions. Since the students are currently on vacation, the regional government has asked parents not to let their children go outside.

The operation of public transport was limited. It is difficult to get to a number of areas due to heavy snowfalls, the press service added.

Earlier that day, an avalanche descended from Petrovskaya Sopka and covered the road in the center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. There were no people or cars in the snowfall area. A contractor was involved in the work on clearing the roadway.

On March 20, residents of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk were warned about avalanches. Snowfall is possible in areas and villages near mountainous terrain. Earlier, on March 11, an expedition group of nine people was trapped by an avalanche on Mount Aragats in Armenia. Eight tourists managed to get out on their own, one disappeared.
