The State Duma proposed to give young parents a set of necessary supplies for newborns

The State Duma proposed to introduce the provision of a set of necessary items for caring for a child in the first year of his life to young families in which the first child was born to a mother under the age of 23. On March 24, the leader of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, Sergei Mironov, sent a similar appeal to the Minister of Labor of the Russian Federation, Anton Kotyakov.

Mironov noted that in some regions of Russia, maternity hospitals give out a special gift set that includes things necessary in the first month of a baby's life: clothes, bed linen, hygiene items for a newborn.

According to the deputy, such support should be provided at the federal level.

"Providing a set will reduce the financial burden on young families, which is extremely important against the background of rising prices for children's goods," he told RIA Novosti.

The payment amount wants to be reduced by 50% nationwide

On January 31, the Ministry of Labor prepared a bill on payments to heroine mothers. So, according to the document, last year the monthly cash payment was 66.1 thousand rubles. In 2025, 72.4 thousand rubles will be paid to women, in 2026 — 75.6 thousand rubles, in 2027 — 78.6 thousand rubles. It is assumed that the payment will be indexed annually from February 1.
