Venezuela continues work on joining BRICS

Caracas understands the growing role of BRICS on the world stage and continues to work towards joining the association. This was reported to Izvestia by the Russian Embassy in Venezuela.

"Venezuela is aware of the growing role of BRICS on the world stage and, of course, attaches great importance to cooperation in this format. To become a part of an association, it is necessary to enlist the support of all its members. We see that Caracas does not stop working in this direction," the diplomats note.

Earlier in 2024, the Venezuelan president attended the BRICS summit in Kazan, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Caracas was expected to join the union, but this did not happen due to Brazil's veto.
