The spring wedding season has started at the Mayakovskaya metro station in Moscow. This was announced on Sunday, March 23, by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Social Development.

The first spring wedding ceremonies were held at the station on the night of March 23: three new families were created. Rakova noted that the Mayakovskaya station is one of the most sought-after sites of the Moscow Mayor's New Addresses of Happiness project, where couples can marry in the most beautiful and unusual places in the city.

"In total, nine new families will be created on this site in the spring, including weddings on the most popular date of the year — May 25," the Moscow City News agency quoted Rakov as saying.

During the ceremony, the newlyweds are accompanied by two trains – Moscow 2020 and Moscow 2024. After that, lovers can take memorable pictures right in the subway car.

The wedding decorations have been updated for the first spring ceremonies. By the end of 2025, Mayakovskaya will host ceremonies on seven more dates: in all spring and summer months, as well as in October and November. All registration slots are already occupied at this station, the website clarifies. kp.ru .

According to Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry, wedding ceremonies in unusual places of the city have become popular thanks to the project of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin "New Addresses of Happiness".

Anastasia Rakova previously noted that the project is becoming more popular every year, NSN notes. The first ceremonies at the Mayakovskaya station this year took place in early February.
