Belarus and Russia will appoint special representatives to monitor the implementation of the treaty on security guarantees within the framework of the Union State. This was announced on Sunday, March 23, by Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Volfovich.

"From the point of view of monitoring this agreement, it is planned to introduce the institute of special representatives in the near future using the potential of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus," he said on the Belarus 1 TV channel.

According to him, it is assumed that the special representatives will monitor the implementation of the provisions. The special Representatives will develop "some proposals, if necessary, to develop the implementation of strategic planning documents," he added.

On March 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko had a telephone conversation. During the contact, the Russian leader shared his assessments of the ongoing Russian-American dialogue at various levels.
