Wildfires broke out in Ehime and Okayama prefectures in Japan. This was reported on March 23 by the NHK TV channel.

"A forest fire has broken out in the city of Imabari in Ehime Prefecture, which continues to spread. The city has ordered the evacuation of all households in the nearby Nagasawa area and strongly recommends that residents stay in safe places," the newspaper notes.

An evacuation order was issued for 381 people.

As specified by "Gazeta.Ru", another source of ignition is located near the city of Okayama in the prefecture of the same name, where about 10 hectares have already burned out. Local residents are also forced to evacuate there.

The prefectural authorities appealed to the Japanese self-Defense forces to assist in extinguishing the fire, NHK writes.

At the end of February, three fires were recorded in Japan in Iwate Prefecture in the Akasaki-te-Gozoku area of the city of Ofunato, in the Koji and Takhama areas of the city of Ayasato and in the city of Sanriku. On March 4, it was reported that the area of the forest fire had increased to 2.6 thousand hectares. The largest fire in recent decades was brought under control 12 days after it occurred. On March 9, it was noted that there was no threat to the further spread of the fire.
