The Finnish Food Industry Workers' Union (SEL) will begin a strike at the breweries Hartwall, Olvi and Sinebrychoff on Sunday evening. This was announced on March 23 by the Yle television and radio company.

They noted that the protest action covers almost a thousand employees and will last until March 28. The producers assured that they had prepared for the strike, so there would be no interruptions in the supply of beer to shops and bars.

The trade union demands higher wages for employees and better working conditions, the publication clarifies.

The state mediator in the labor dispute, Janne Metsamaki, said that no agreement on working conditions had been reached. According to him, negotiations between the union and employers will continue "as soon as it becomes possible."

On March 9, Hamburg Airport suspended operations due to the start of a trade union strike. Thus, the union demands an 8% salary increase, or at least €350 per month, as well as an increase in bonuses and additional vacation time.
