The Kremlin is impressed by the change in Washington's rhetoric that has occurred with the arrival of the team of US President Donald Trump. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, a video of which was published on his Telegram channel on March 23.

According to Peskov, the position of the American administration differs from that held by supporters of the country's previous leader Joe Biden.

"The new administration is talking about peace, the new administration is talking about the prospects for economic cooperation that will benefit everyone...> and the new administration is talking about deals. This kind of tone appeals to us much more," he said.

The Kremlin's official representative noted that it is difficult to overestimate the potential of mutually beneficial Russian-American cooperation in various fields.

"We may disagree on some things, but that doesn't mean we should deprive ourselves of mutual benefits. That's what common sense says," Peskov pointed out.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation also stressed that Russia and the United States have a long work to do to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, so it is impractical to wait for relatively early prospects.

"You shouldn't flatter yourself. There is a very serious, painstaking work ahead, we have to dive into the details," he concluded.

Earlier in the day, Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin's conversation with the American leader took place in a trusting and constructive atmosphere. He added that difficult technical negotiations are necessary for a personal meeting between Trump and Putin.

The telephone conversation between Putin and Trump took place on the evening of March 18. During the conversation, they exchanged views on the Ukrainian conflict, and also discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could establish cooperation.

Negotiations between the delegations of Russia and the United States will take place in Riyadh on March 24. They will discuss the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and the implementation of the Black Sea initiative. The Russian delegation will be led by Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, and Sergey Beseda, Adviser to the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB).
