Nikita Mikhalkov's creative evening was held in Moscow

The presentation of the Eurasian Film Academy and the Film Awards, which will take place in April, will be an analogue of the Oscar. This was told by director Nikita Mikhalkov after his creative evening "Territory of my Love" in Moscow.

According to the director, the Diamond Butterfly Award will also be presented at the Moscow International Film Festival, and the first award ceremony will take place in December.

"In theory, every new award ceremony should take place in a separate country. And the paintings are chosen by those experts in this country who consider these paintings worthy of it. Today, the Oscar has become like the ideological department of the Central Committee, but we've already had enough of it all. It's possible, it's impossible, it's necessary. We want to get away from this and I hope that we will," Mikhalkov shared.

It is noted that about 25 countries have shown interest in the academy. The film award will be held in Russia for three years to gain popularity, and after that it will be held in other countries.

Also during the meeting, the director recalled childhood stories and incidents that happened to him and his colleagues on film sets. In addition, the meeting's visitors were able to personally communicate with Mikhalkov and ask questions.

The day before, Mikhalkov said that the Oscar had ceased to have real value due to excessive politicization, so it was decided to create the Eurasian Film Academy and establish its own film award.
