One person died in a fire in a private house in Kalmykia.

In the Gorodovikovsky district of the Republic of Kalmykia, a man died as a result of a fire in a private house. This was announced on March 23 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"Today at 05:56, a report was received about a fire in a private apartment building in Zapadny Lane in Gorodovikovsk. <...> Unfortunately, one person died. The cause, the damage and the perpetrators are being established," the ministry said.

It is specified that the total fire area was 35 sq. m. A gas and smoke protection unit was formed to extinguish the fire. Two tanker trucks and five personnel were also involved by fire department specialists.

To prevent such cases, the agency advised citizens to monitor the condition of the wiring, use serviceable electrical equipment and not smoke in bed.

Earlier, on March 21, two children died in a fire in an abandoned barn in the Sverdlovsk region. Investigators conducted an inspection of the scene, the causes of the incident are being established. On the same day, a 74-year-old pensioner died as a result of a fire in Blagoveshchensk. The fire area was 3 square meters. m. The staff of the rescue and emergency service found the body of a man on the sofa that caught fire. An investigative and operational group is working at the scene of the incident.
