The UK is considering the possibility of deporting asylum-seeking migrants to Balkan countries. The British newspaper The Times wrote about this on March 21, citing government sources.

"The government is developing proposals to open a number of "return centers" abroad, where migrants will be sent after they have been denied asylum and have exhausted all possibilities for appeal," the publication says.

It is specified that to do this, the British ministers intend to appeal to the Balkan countries, including Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Northern Macedonia. During the implementation of the scheme, London will be forced to pay the receiving party for each resettled person.

In addition, according to the newspaper, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is interested in cooperation with other European countries that plan to open refugee return centers.

Earlier, on March 20, Germany proposed to cancel the payment of benefits to Ukrainian refugees. The idea was put forward by members of the CDU (Christian Democratic Union Party) / CSU (Christian Social Union Party) and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) factions. It is noted that such a decision will also eliminate the inequality between Ukrainians and refugees from other countries.
