The Call of the People movement proposed awarding Sergei Shcheglov, a 10-year-old resident of the Kursk region, who risked his life to wage a covert struggle against Ukrainian formations, recording their atrocities and passing valuable information to Russian troops, with the Medal For Courage. This was announced on March 22 by the chairman of the movement Sergey Zaitsev.

"Sergei Shcheglov's feat is a living embodiment of heroism, which we once heard about in history lessons about children of the Great Patriotic War (WWII)! This 10-year-old boy, like Lenya Golikov, Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya and thousands of other young heroes of the Great Patriotic War, showed incredible courage and devotion to the Motherland under occupation!"— said Zaitsev to the TV channel. 360.ru .

According to the chairman of the movement, Shcheglov's act can be considered a symbol of the invincibility of the Russian spirit, even in its youngest manifestation.

"Sergey showed that anyone can become a hero, regardless of age. He is the real pride of Russia," Zaitsev concluded.

Seryozha Shcheglov, a schoolboy from the village of Kazachya Loknya in the Sudzha district, showed the devastating consequences of the atrocities of the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). A 10-year-old boy who lived with his parents under the occupation of Ukrainian nationalists for seven months showed Izvestia unique footage on March 22.
