A draft law on the passage of cars in water protection zones has been submitted to the State Duma

A bill has been submitted to the State Duma (DG) authorizing the passage of vehicles in water protection zones along temporary, specially equipped paths. The document was registered in the Duma's electronic database on March 22.

"The project <...> was developed in order to ensure the possibility of using vehicles in water protection zones without building permanent roads for the period of creation of recreational facilities in order to ensure construction and installation work, delivery of necessary equipment and inventory," the explanatory note says.

It is noted that often in water protection zones there are difficulties with the passage of cars — there are no paved roads on which it is permissible to move and stop.

The bill proposes to use ways for such cases that will prevent pollutants from entering the water. For example, roads filled with gravel, covered with slabs or wooden floors.

On March 11, the State Duma proposed to tighten responsibility for refusing to give way to an ambulance and increase the fine several times. According to Yaroslav Nilov, head of the Duma Committee on Social Policy (LDPR), the current measure of responsibility for drivers does not work.
