More than 10 people were injured in the explosion of a three-story building in Tehran.

"The building in question was three storeys high and old, and it is reported that people were apparently digging a well to test the soil, which led to a gas leak, explosion and fire, as well as the complete destruction of three floors," said Jalal Maleki, a spokesman for the service.

The number of victims is being clarified, 10 people have been taken to medical institutions. Three fire brigades are working at the site. As a result of the incident, windows were also broken in 12 neighboring buildings, and a number of cars were seriously damaged, Maleki added.
