Canadian Dunphy has set a new world record in 35 km race walking.

Canadian athlete Evan Dunphy has set a new world record in the 35 km race walk at a competition in Slovakia. This was announced on March 22 on the website of the International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics).

It is noted that the 34-year-old athlete showed a result of 2 hours 21 minutes 40 seconds, improving by seven seconds the previous record set by Japanese Masator Kavanaugh.

Dunphy is a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympic Games and the 2019 World Championships.

Earlier, on March 1, it became known that Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis set a new world record in the pole vault, breaking the bar at a height of 6.27 m at the All Star Perche by SCC tournament in France. The 25-year-old athlete set the 11th world record in his career.
