Piastri has qualified for Formula 1 for the first time in his career

For the first time in his career, the Australian McLaren driver Oscar Piastri won pole position in qualifying for the second stage of the Formula 1 championship, the Chinese Grand Prix. The competition takes place in Shanghai.

So, Piastri showed the best lap in 1 minute 30.641 seconds.

Briton George Russell of their Mercedes team took second place, and McLaren team—mate Lando Norris took third place. The champion of the last four seasons, the Dutchman Max Verstappen showed the fourth result.

The race itself will take place on March 23 at 10:00 Moscow time.

Earlier, on March 16, Lando Norris won the first stage of the Formula 1 World Championship. The reigning world champion Max Verstappen from the Red Bull team finished second, and George Russell took third place.
