Shoigu noted Serbia's steadfastness in refusing to join the sanctions against Russia

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, during a meeting with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin on March 22, noted Belgrade's steadfastness in refusing to join anti-Russian sanctions.
Shoigu noted that the Russian Federation values the existing relations with Serbia and worries about what is happening in Belgrade.
"We appreciate Belgrade's firm commitment to curbing or not maintaining sanctions against Russia, and, of course, the position that the Serbian leadership has developed today regarding, among other things, a special military operation," the Security Council secretary said.
Vulin, in turn, thanked the Russian authorities and President Vladimir Putin personally for their "unwavering support for Serbia's legitimate strata," Belgrade has not joined Western sanctions and will continue to adhere to this line, he stressed.
The Serbian deputy Prime Minister pointed to the ongoing "color revolution" in the country, which, in his opinion, is related to the position of the authorities towards Moscow.
"The Western intelligence services are behind the color revolution in Serbia, which would like to bring another government to power in Serbia. We will not allow this," Vulin said.
Russia will maintain a regular dialogue with Serbia in order to counteract the "color revolutions" and prevent the destabilization of the socio-political situation, Shoigu concluded.
On March 8, Vulin said that the West was using the protests of students and oppositionists in Serbia to further push Belgrade against Moscow. According to him, the ongoing protests have no social background, it is "not a movement for a more just or successful society."
The Serbian deputy prime Minister clarified that a "color revolution" is currently taking place in the country, the purpose of which is to overthrow the government and establish a government that will impose sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as nationalize the "Oil Industry of Serbia" (NIS).
