The head of the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg, Alexei Nikonorov, died after a serious illness.

Alexey Nikonorov, head of the Primorsky District Administration of St. Petersburg, died at the age of 52. The governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, expressed his condolences on March 22.

"Alexey Vladimirovich Nikonorov, the head of the Primorsky District administration, passed away after a serious illness. I express my deep condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. A talented leader and organizer, a reliable, active business executive, he made a great contribution to the development of the Primorsky district," Beglov wrote.

He also noted that last year alone, a record number of social facilities were commissioned in Primorsky Krai, including five schools, 11 kindergartens, and the Maxim leisure center, which underwent reconstruction work. According to him, under the leadership of Alexei Nikonorov, the district paid attention to landscaping, the creation of public places, and the development of transport infrastructure.

On March 3, Nikonorov was awarded the Order of Friendship for his labor achievements and many years of diligent work.

Nikonorov became the head of the administration of the Primorsky Territory of St. Petersburg in April 2022. Prior to that, he held the post of deputy head in the same district since 2014. Nikonorov passed away after a serious illness.
