The Ukrainian authorities have expanded the list of units of the Armed Forces (AFU) and the National Guard, including the Azov brigade (an organization recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia), to recruit contract soldiers aged 18-24. This was announced on March 21 by Pavel Palisa, deputy head of the office of President Vladimir Zelensky.

"I am particularly pleased that the National Guard of Ukraine units will soon join the program: the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade, the 13th Charter Operational Forces Brigade,— Palisa wrote on his Telegram channel.

At the same time, the Ukrainian edition "Country.ua" notes that the list includes only infantry brigades located on the front line.

Prior to that, on February 8, it was reported that the Ukrainian president announced his intention to attract young people from 18 to 24 years old to the Armed Forces through special contracts. According to him, the special agreement assumes "many preferences" and high monetary security.

Earlier, on February 5, Zelensky extended martial law and general mobilization in the country until May 9 of this year. The Verkhovna Rada voted for the relevant documents on January 15.
