The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, may in the future play only a "secondary role" in European politics instead of the main one. This opinion was expressed by the Bild newspaper on March 21.

"Is it just a coincidence, or is this a clear sign that music on Ukraine and defense is now being played more in London and Paris than in Brussels? That the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who is often called "the most influential woman in Europe," will only play a supporting role on the world stage in the future," the article says.

The publication writes that the United States also does not take into account the opinion of the head of the European Commission. Bild recalled how US Vice President Jay D. Vance left the Paris summit when von der Leyen began responding to his speech.

On March 21, Kyriakos Velopoulos, a member of the national parliament from the Greek Solution party, explained to Izvestia that the plan proposed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for the rearmament of Europe was not suitable for all EU countries.
