The Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow on Saturday, March 22, partially satisfied 11 claims for compensation for moral damage in the case of the fire at the Winter Cherry shopping center in 2018.

According to RIA Novosti, the plaintiffs were citizens whose relatives died in the tragedy. The defendants in the debate were the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and JSC Kemerovo Confectionery Plant.

The court did not disclose the amount of compensation, she clarified "Газета.Ru ".

The fire at the Winter Cherry occurred on March 25, 2018. As a result, 60 people died, 37 of whom were children. In total, there were 15 defendants in the criminal case. According to investigators, they joined together in an organized criminal group and only created the appearance of compliance with fire safety rules, but in fact they saved money.

Earlier, on November 23, 2024, Vyacheslav Vishnevsky, the co-owner of Winter Cherry, who was convicted in the case of the fire in the shopping center, was released on parole. At the same time, the Tomsk Regional Court dismissed the prosecutor's office's complaint against the decision to release Vishnevsky on parole.

In October 2022, Vishnevsky was sentenced to eight years for bribery. He was sentenced to eight years in prison with a fine of 21 million rubles and served his sentence in a high-security penal colony.
