The deputy proposed to abolish the criteria of need for large families when receiving benefits

Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma representing the Liberal Democratic Party, appealed to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova with an initiative at the federal level to abolish the criteria of need for benefits for large families. This was reported on March 22 by RIA Novosti with reference to the relevant appeal.

"I believe that eliminating the criteria of need in the provision of benefits to large families will be an important step towards strengthening social support measures and strengthening the institution of the family in Russia," Chernyshov said.

According to the parliamentarian, the existence of such criteria leads to the fact that many families cannot receive assistance for formal reasons.

The payment amount wants to be reduced by 50% nationwide

On January 31, the Ministry of Labor prepared a bill on payments to heroine mothers. So, according to the document, last year the monthly cash payment was 66.1 thousand rubles. In 2025, 72.4 thousand rubles will be paid to women, in 2026 — 75.6 thousand rubles, in 2027 — 78.6 thousand rubles. It is assumed that the payment will be indexed annually from February 1.
